4. Scope and nature of data processing
Abbott processes your personal data on the Lingo Facebook page in the following ways:
- When you interact with the Lingo Facebook page, your public profile information (including display name)
- When you interact with the Lingo Facebook page by:
- uploading a post and entering your personal information there
- entering your personal data via the comment function under posts
- contacting Abbott via Messenger and providing your personal data
- When you interact with the Lingo Facebook page, Facebook Insights uses your data to gather statistics on page usage. In order to process messages from Facebook users efficiently, these, as well as the master data of the corresponding profile, are also processed outside the Lingo Facebook page in systems for which Abbott is responsible. Abbott may contact you via Messenger with follow-up questions about the content published on our page or via Messenger.
If you contact us by email or via Facebook Messenger, we cannot guarantee that the communication will be encrypted therefore please assume that all communications are unencrypted.
5. Legal basis and purposes

Your personal data is processed based on the following legal basis:
- Art. 6.1. (a) GDPR (consent), for specific purposes You consent Abbott processing your personal data when you contact us with queries or perform a consent action in our Facebook Fan page after joining it.
- Art. 6 (1 ) b) GDPR (performance of contract, implementation of pre-contractual measures) Abbott processes your personal data in order to fulfil contracts that you have entered into with Abbott or to carry out pre-contractual measures. You may provide Abbott with your personal data if:
- you have questions about Abbott's products and offers
- you want to complain about an Abbott product
Your data may be shared internally to process your request.
The amount and category of data processed depends on what you provide to Abbott. In order to process your request, it may be necessary for Abbott to request further data from you. When you contact Abbott via messenger, Information that you submit to us via private message may be stored on secure servers located in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. In certain circumstances, personal information submitted by you may be transferred by us to our other offices and/or the third parties we work with, which may be situated outside the European Economic Area or United Kingdom and may be processed by staff operating outside the European Economic Area or United Kingdom. 7. Data erasure and retention period
Your personal data is deleted from Abbott's internal systems as soon as it is no longer required for the purposes stated. However, Abbott must sometimes continue to store your data until the end of the retention periods and deadlines set by the legislator or supervisory authorities, which may be derived, for example, from, the Tax Code or the Money Laundering Act and other legal provisions, which are usually 6 to 10 years. Abbott may also retain your data until the statutory limitation periods have expired, to the extent it is necessary to assert, exercise or legal defence claims.
